Recently i stumbled upon a very interesting electronic band from the U.S. named Fighter Jets, a duo currently based on Los Angeles. CA.
The song that got my attention was the synthwave oriented 'Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads', needless to say, the title alone is a very recognizable quote from the film 'Back to the Future', and listening to the first seconds of the intro with a classic sound of a modem connecting, i was an immediate attention grabber for me.
The synthwave elements are produced very solidly, the synth drums work is very polished and has that classic 80's feel but with a modernized essence of today productions comparable to bands like The Midnight or Gunship.
It's notable that Fighter Jets play creatively well with efx , volume and equalization tweaks that give the track a very dynamic feel that merges perfectly with the somewhat hypnotic lines from the chorus "you'll never see me again"; and elevates even more with the killer synth bass overtones.
In general, the song lyrics altough simplistic are catchy enough to transmit a very vanguardist melodical passion and the female vocals are perfeclty well balanced and produced, and blend delightfullly in this kind of more dark oriented songs.
It is indeed a modernized trip to a sci-fi 80's era long lost but revitalized and in some kind of way an intimate powerful tribute to those classic electronic sonic ambients.
Conclusion:Fighter Jets started on 2015 and they only seem to get better with every song they release, their synthwave approach is top quality, very creative and very pleasant and interesting to listen to.
I recommend them specially if you are looking for a more dynamic synthwave style with passionate & killer melodies in general.
