Hey, I’m Skyepaint from Australia. “Light Years Away” is my 4th single, written and recorded in my home studio.
Lyrically, the song deals with overcoming the self-doubt that pursuing a creative career often brings.
Musically, the song is inspired by mainstays of the synthpop genre old and new, from Depeche Mode and The Human League to CHVRCHES and The Midnight, particularly the way in which these artists use dynamics shifts to reinforce their emotive vocals and sincere lyrics.

“Light Years Away” was produced and mixed in Logic Pro X, primarily using Waves Renaissance plugins and numerous software synths including Sylenth1 and Dexed.
