"'What there is not to like about Munatix?' should be the question and we haven't found something to answer...
The high spirited electro/synthpop duo Munatix delight us with their newest single "I'm Home Free", following in the same energetic and uplifting mood like their previous release "You're Out Of My League" but this time around the band focuses on a more reflexive lyrical theme and giving it that same spice that they are cooking as their signature sound.
It's really interesting how is immediately recognizable when a band is very dedicated to polish a peculiar sonic identity and Munatix is doing it perfectly, it's clear too that they are focusing on a more classic synthpop sound with modest disco elements, but the combination of the retro synth melodies and patches and balanced production of Josh with the ultralistenable vocal harmonies and textures of Ricky, merge pretty well for a very entertaining listening experience.
"I'm Home Free" also features a multivocal chorus that gets very contagious each time you listen to it and in a very good and fun way.
You should give a listen to Munatix and we also encourage you listen to their previous release which we did a special feature track here too,
they are the classic uplifting synthpop with the modernized touch you are looking for."

SYW Overall SCORE:
INSIDE THE TRACK: [artist's commentary]
Meanwhile Munatix is at their 3rd single release. Their new baby is called I’m Home Free. The lyrics of the song describe a broken love. Ricky sings about the ponderings that spin inside your head after a break-up; The feeling of liberation, but at the same time nostalgia. What better subject is there to write a song about? The sounds you can hear in the track are mainly coming from Josh’s vintage analogue synthesizers. By blending these with contemporary electronic sounds and techniques, the end result is retro inspired synthpop.
