"One of the most recent sounds that really captured our attention was that of U.K. based synthpop duo Dreampark's 'Cherry on Top', it is one of those releases that we can say has something very special in terms of a true old school music production from the '80s but with that kind of modern vintage sonic coating.
The song is an instant classic that often reminds you of your favorite 80's cinematic experiences, especially those that held romantic, fun, and high school adventures.
The chorus is really catchy and the vocal production has a special tweaking that blends the perfectly with the fine-tuned beat and synth layers. And of course, the vocals themselves are perfectly balanced and their elegant tones enhance the song beautifully.
Again, this could easily pass as an 80's soundtrack perfectly or even as a more modern one with similar themes with a more contemporary twist; (for example, it could probably fit well in some high school scenes of Kobra Kai, or something around that fresh but vintage humor, i.e: Stranger Things).
One last thing to highlight is that the production value on this is of amazing quality, the mixing, mastering, the balance of all elements, the synths used, and the drumbeats.
Please follow Dreampark to catch in time their next releases and especially if you love modern old-school synthpop with a fresh presentation!"

SYW Overall SCORE:
INSIDE THE TRACK: [artist's commentary]
Bringing back the nostalgic feel-good alt-pop sounds, Dreampark
return with their new track 'Cherry on top'. Taking inspiration
from the likes of MGMT, Tame Impala, and Kate Bush,
Dreampark combine modern style with a heavy dose of 70's and
"The Liverpool-hailed band draw us to a dreamy world filled with
psychedelic rhythms and soothing vocals"-
'Cherry on Top' is a song about first times. With an uplifting
summer atmosphere and a catchy chorus, Dreampark try to
describe that elusive feeling right before you jump, the
excitement of going to the next level and the urge to conquer
the peak and put the cherry on top. It's a youthful summer
romance with a cynical twist.
