"Once again we would like to highlight the most recent album release by Swedish artist Me & Melancholy, this time with another elegant song that encompasses the gorgeous electronic style that listeners can find inside the LP release titled: 'Under the cover of darkness'.
We selected 'Touch You' as one of several other candidates for a feature since we felt the track balances a sense of melancholy, a dark tone, and an ambiguous yet romantic atmosphere.

The music production on this track is in line with what we can expect by Me & Melancholy, a sound characterized by a mixture of analog drums, gloomy and orbital synth melodies, with nuanced gothic vocals that imprint an underlying tension that feels genuine and raw.

The use of atmospheric EFX is very well placed with this type of dreamy nostalgic tunes, that mixed with minimalistic elements help shine the overall kind of hypnotic synth phrases and musical progressions carefully crafted by the artist.

INSIDE THE TRACK: [artist's commentary]

almost every time when writing a new song i start with a beat/bass or a melody and those first steps give me a some kind of emotion or feeling and i come up with some words or sentence to capture this emotion. With touch you this was definitely the case. I recorded the chorus vocals and worked on the rest of the instrumentals. This first steps was probably done in october/november last year. So track was probably 60-80% done. Then i kind of lost interest of the song, or some other song felt more Interesting to work on. So i put it on hold with the rest of all the songs I was writing that autumn. During the spring i was looking through all these almost done songs and selected 20-30 candidates for the new album. when hearing the song again after 6 months or so i liked it again and was super inspired to COMPLETE it. The track sounded quite different from the final version then though. The drums and bass was completely different so I reworked the drums and bass and it became kind of a new song but the captured emotion felt the same. The lyrics could be about someone very dear to you that you might think you know well that do something that really hurts you.
